Title: “1.5 Million Tomans Special Support Package Announced for Eligible Families – Key Details”
Expanded Welfare Initiatives Launched to Support Vulnerable Groups
In a significant move to assist underprivileged families, the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee has announced a special living aid package worth 1.5 million tomans per month for eligible beneficiaries. The initiative specifically targets orphans and children from disadvantaged families, including those without a guardian or with an incarcerated father.
Mohammad Dehruyeh, a representative of the Relief Committee in Tehran, highlighted the ongoing “Hosseini Charity Campaign”, which began at the start of Muharram and will continue through Safar. The campaign focuses on providing essential aid, including food packages and hot meals, to thousands of needy families across Tehran.
Widespread Community Participation Drives Success
Dehruyeh emphasized the crucial role of charitable donors, NGOs, and volunteer kitchens in distributing over 5,600 livelihood packages and more than 64,000 hot meals to beneficiaries. The total cost of the initiative has exceeded 940 billion tomans, funded entirely through cash and in-kind donations.
In parallel efforts, volunteer groups such as the “Martyr Seyed Ebrahim Siyadat Jahadi Group” have contributed by distributing food packages—each valued at 15 million rials—containing rice, pasta, oil, tomato paste, meat, and poultry.
Support Beyond Financial Aid: Education and Employment
Beyond immediate relief, the Relief Committee has prioritized long-term empowerment. In Zanjan province, 3,147 job opportunities were created last year, alongside the construction or reinforcement of 1,167 residential units, predominantly in rural areas.
Additionally, educational initiatives have flourished, including free workshops for adolescents, book-reading circles, and vocational training programs such as carpet-weaving. Over 7,000 students supported by the committee are set to begin the new academic year with continued assistance.
Loan Programs to Foster Self-Sufficiency
The committee also offers employment loans, with 70% allocated to current beneficiaries and 30% to non-affiliated individuals who demonstrate the ability to work. This structured approach ensures sustainable support while encouraging economic independence.
Through these comprehensive efforts, the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee continues to uphold its mission of alleviating hardship and fostering resilience among Iran’s most vulnerable populations.
