Title: National Weather Alert: Government Mobilizes for Severe Rainfall Across Multiple Provinces
Tehran – The National Meteorological Center has issued a multi-level weather alert for a significant portion of the country, forecasting intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the coming days. The government has activated its emergency response protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure public safety.
Orange Alert: Critical Conditions in Two Provinces
An Orange-level warning, indicating a high degree of severity, has been declared for the southern regions of Kerman and northern Hormozgan provinces. The Head of the National Weather Forecasting Center, Mr. Ziaeian, warned of intensified convective instability, particularly in the afternoons and early evenings.
“These conditions bring the risk of heavy showers, thunderstorms, temporary strong winds, dust storms, possible hail, and a relative drop in temperature,” Ziaeian stated.
Authorities have highlighted several associated hazards, including the overflow of seasonal rivers, flash floods in canals, surface water runoff, lightning strikes, road waterlogging, reduced visibility, and the potential for rockfalls from elevations. Damage to agricultural products and temporary structures is also anticipated.
In response, citizens, particularly nomads and farmers in these regions, are strongly advised to avoid setting up travel tents and to refrain from stopping near riverbanks and canal beds. The public is urged to exercise caution during tourism and mountaineering activities. Relevant executive and relief agencies have been placed on full standby.
Yellow Alert: Widespread Weather Activity Across 11 Provinces
A broader Yellow-level alert is in effect for eleven provinces due to the activity of two weather systems: one affecting the northern regions and another causing local instability in the south.
According to forecasts, these systems will trigger showers, thunderstorms, temporary strong winds, dust storms, possible hail, and a relative temperature drop across a wide area. The affected provinces over the next several days include West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, Mazandaran, Kurdistan, Zanjan, Golestan, Kerman, Sistan and Baluchestan, and Hormozgan.
Preventative Measures and Public Advisory
The Meteorological Center has issued a series of recommendations to minimize disruption and damage. Farmers are urged to accelerate the harvest of their products and move them to covered locations to prevent losses. The public is advised to ensure the stability of temporary structures, advertising billboards, and greenhouse covers. Furthermore, the public is requested to assist municipal efforts by keeping bridge openings and drains clear of debris.
Officials have emphasized the importance of all citizens and relevant bodies taking these warnings seriously. The coordinated efforts between meteorological services, emergency response units, and the public are crucial for navigating this period of severe weather safely.
