Tehran – The National Meteorological Center has issued a detailed weather forecast, predicting a shift towards rainfall in several provinces later this week, while other regions are expected to experience calm and stable atmospheric conditions.
A Week of Contrasting Conditions
According to the latest reports, the country is set to experience varied weather patterns. On Tuesday, increased wind speeds and occasional dust storms are anticipated in the northeast and eastern parts of the nation. In contrast, the western half of the country will enjoy a period of settled and stable weather.
Rainfall on the Horizon
The weather pattern is set to change by Wednesday. Forecasts indicate an increase in cloud cover and wind in parts of the northwest, with the provinces of Gilan and eastern Ardabil expected to see cloudiness and the onset of rainfall. Meanwhile, the eastern half of the country will maintain its calm and stable conditions.
The most significant weather event is projected for Thursday. The span of precipitation is expected to cover eastern Ardabil, the entire Caspian Sea coast, North Khorasan, and the Alborz mountain ranges in the provinces of Zanjan and Qazvin. Later that afternoon, wind intensity is forecast to increase in the northeast and east, with the northwest, northern coasts, and southern slopes of the Alborz also experiencing winds and a relative drop in temperature.
Focus on the Capital: Tehran
The Head of the National Prediction Center provided a specific update on the capital. Tehran’s sky is expected to be partly cloudy today, with periods of increased cloud cover and strong winds, raising the possibility of dust storms. The maximum temperature is forecast to be 27°C, with a minimum of 16°C.
A yellow meteorological warning has been issued for Tehran Province, indicating the likelihood of relatively strong to severe winds and potential dust activity in the western and southern parts of the province throughout the day.
Looking further ahead, the northern highlands of Tehran Province are expected to see increased clouds, periods of strong wind, and from Thursday through early Saturday, partly to fully cloudy skies accompanied by a noticeable temperature drop and rainfall. In higher elevations, particularly in summit areas, there is a potential for frost and squally winds.
