Iran Khodro Granted 4% Price Adjustment Following Regulatory Review
In a significant development for Iran’s automotive market, the country’s Pricing Determination and Stabilization Committee has officially authorized a 4% price increase for vehicles produced by Iran Khodro. This decision concludes a period of regulatory review and establishes new, official pricing for the automaker’s product line.
Regulatory Scrutiny Precedes Final Approval
The path to this price adjustment involved detailed regulatory oversight. The Commission of Article 90 of the Islamic Consultative Assembly had previously raised questions regarding a new market regulation framework for passenger vehicles proposed by the Competition Council. This led to a suspension of the recent resolution, with instructions to revert to previously established procedures until the identified issues could be thoroughly examined and resolved.
Financial Review and Official Authorization
Following this period of scrutiny, the Support and Protection Organization for Consumers and Producers conducted a meticulous re-examination of Iran Khodro’s financial statements. Based on this analysis, the organization issued the formal permit for the 4% price adjustment and officially communicated this decision to the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
The Path to the Price Adjustment
The company’s management had formally submitted a request for a price increase to the relevant regulatory bodies. After a comprehensive assessment, the initial proposal was refined. The Support and Protection Organization confirmed that Iran Khodro’s original request for an 18% price hike was not approved. The final, authorized adjustment of 4% was determined to be the appropriate measure following the detailed financial review. In accordance with regulatory requirements, Iran Khodro has since submitted the new, approved price list to the Securities and Exchange Organization.
