Iran’s Export Bank Rewards Customers in Major ‘Tanin’ Prize Draw
Tehran – In a significant initiative to promote digital banking, the Export Bank of Iran has announced the winners of its third ‘Tanin’ prize draw, granting substantial financial facilities to 40 lucky customers.
Incentivizing a Digital Shift
The ‘Tanin Chekno’ scheme, launched last year, is a strategic program designed to encourage the adoption of ‘Chekno,’ the banking system’s premier secure digital cheque. The recently concluded draw covered customer activity from the beginning of Khordad to the end of Shahrivar of the current year.
Winners were selected from four distinct customer categories—’Inactive,’ ‘Potential,’ ‘Active,’ and ‘Premium’—with 10 winners chosen from each group. This targeted approach aims to engage a broad spectrum of the bank’s clientele.
Substantial Prizes Awarded
According to the draw’s results, the winners will receive significant financial facilities:
- Ten winners will receive facilities of 2 billion Rials.
- Another ten have been awarded facilities of 600 million Rials.
- Ten customers will benefit from 5 billion Rial facilities.
- A further ten winners have been granted 200 million Rial facilities.
Eligibility for the draw was based on customers performing specific actions, such as activating Chekno, issuing and cashing it through the bank’s non-attendance channels, or assigning cheques from other banks to the Export Bank of Iran.
A Strategic Move for a Modern Banking System
The promotion of Chekno is a key component of the national banking system’s modernization. The program has already yielded impressive results, with the Export Bank of Iran now accounting for 50% of all electronic cheques in the banking system. This shift is projected to continue growing, reinforcing the bank’s leading role in this sector.
The move to digital cheques is also framed as a crucial measure to enhance security and efficiency. The initiative helps mitigate the risks associated with traditional paper cheques, which can be costly and are susceptible to forgery and legal complications.
Next Steps for Winners
The announced winners can now visit their local Export Bank branches to begin the process of receiving their designated financial facilities. The bank has also outlined a flexible provision, allowing winners who may face limitations with the micro-loan ceiling to transfer all or part of their facility to first-degree relatives, including parents, spouses, children, brothers, or sisters, provided the necessary conditions are met.
