Government Announces Subsidized Frozen Lamb to Stabilize Market and Support Households
In a decisive move to counter rising food prices and ensure nutritional security, the Municipal Fruit and Vegetable Market Organization has unveiled a new initiative to provide subsidized frozen lamb to the public. The announcement comes amid significant increases in the cost of protein products, particularly red meat.
A Measure for Market Stability
The organization’s spokesperson, Mr. Ghané, confirmed that the decision was made specifically to “preserve balance in the market and prevent the removal of red meat from the household food basket.” The primary objective is to shield consumers from price surges and facilitate easier access to healthy protein sources.
Pricing and Availability Details
Starting this Saturday, November 4th, imported frozen lamb will be made available for less than 600,000 Tomans per unit. The distribution will cover all markets and centers operated by the Municipal Fruit and Vegetable Market Organization across the city, ensuring widespread accessibility for citizens. The cuts offered will include sheep leg and shoulder.
Focused Consumer Support
Officials emphasize that this program is a direct form of support for consumers, designed to alleviate economic pressure on families. By intervening in the market, the initiative aims to maintain the affordability of essential food items, reflecting a continued commitment to public welfare and market management.
