The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that over the past 48 hours, the bodies of 19 martyrs were transferred to hospitals. According to the reports, four of these individuals were directly targeted, while the remaining 15 were recovered from beneath the rubble.
Ceasefire Period Statistics
Since the implementation of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on October 11, 2025, the cumulative figures now stand at 93 martyrs and 324 injured. Furthermore, the recovery efforts have led to the discovery of 464 bodies from under the rubble during this period. These numbers contribute to the overall toll since the beginning of the recent conflict phase on October 7, 2023, which is reported by local health authorities as 68,519 martyrs and 170,382 injured.
Ongoing Humanitarian and Medical Challenges
Despite the ceasefire, significant humanitarian challenges persist. Mohammad Abo Afash, the director of a medical relief organization in Gaza, expressed in an interview with Al Jazeera that hopes for the entry of relief aid and essential medical supplies after the ceasefire have not been fully realized. He emphasized that medical services continue to face severe difficulties due to a critical shortage of facilities and equipment.
Calls for Enhanced Support
Abo Afash stressed the urgent need for the establishment of mobile clinics and field hospitals to address the dire situation. He voiced a strong hope for the provision of necessary equipment and a general improvement in conditions within the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity for clear policies aimed at revitalizing the situation and improving the living conditions for the people of Gaza, with a particular focus on the well-being of children.
