Iran Announces Return to Standard Banking Hours for Autumn 2025
In a coordinated move to standardize public service schedules, Iranian banking institutions will revert to their regular operating hours starting this autumn. The decision, formalized by the country’s Administrative and Employment Organization, marks the end of the summer timetable and a return to the nation’s standard operational rhythm.
The New Banking Schedule
The Banking Coordination Council has released the detailed schedule for the change. Effective from the beginning of the Iranian month of Mehr (late September 2025), the new hours for state-owned and semi-state-owned banks are as follows:
- Saturday to Wednesday: Customer service hours will be from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Thursdays: Services will be available from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The working schedule for bank employees has also been adjusted to facilitate this public-facing schedule, ensuring a smooth transition back to the standard administrative calendar.
Head Office Adjustments
A separate directive outlines the working hours for central administrative bank units located in Tehran. From Saturday to Tuesday, these offices will operate from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On Wednesdays, their working day will conclude at 3:00 PM.
A Broader National Shift
This change in banking hours is part of a wider, synchronized effort by the Iranian government. The Administrative and Employment Organization has confirmed that with the start of the new academic and administrative year in autumn, working hours for other government agencies and schools will also return to their standard schedules. This unified action underscores a commitment to orderly and efficient public administration across all sectors.
