Title: Fuel Management Explained: Official Details Measures to Streamline Gas Distribution in Bandar Abbas
In response to public inquiries, a senior Iranian oil official has clarified the reasoning behind recent fuel distribution measures in the city of Bandar Abbas, framing them as a systematic effort to optimize consumption and enhance service delivery.
A System Designed for Order
Mohammad Amin Hajian, the head of fuel distribution in Hormozgan province, explained that the procedures are a direct implementation of resolutions from the provincial Anti-Smuggling of Goods and Currency Commission. The core objective is to ensure the full and proper use of the personal fuel card system, a cornerstone of the nation’s fuel management policy.
To address urgent needs, seven stations in Bandar Abbas have been designated with emergency fuel cards. “These emergency cards are solely for urgent situations and to assist citizens whose personal card quota has been exhausted or who do not yet possess a personal card,” Hajian emphasized.
Prioritizing Efficiency and Reducing Congestion
The official detailed that other fuel stations in the city are equipped with emergency cards reserved exclusively for special uses, including ambulances, police vehicles, stranded motorists, and genuine emergencies. This tiered system is designed to manage fuel consumption effectively, prevent traffic congestion for vehicles with personal quotas, and ultimately reduce waiting times at distribution points.
Hajian reminded citizens that every personal car fuel card receives a monthly quota of 60 liters at a subsidized rate. Once this primary quota is used, the card is automatically recharged with an additional 100 liters at a slightly higher, yet still subsidized, price. This monthly quota is non-transferable to subsequent months.
A Call for Public Cooperation
Authorities have requested public cooperation to ensure the system’s success. Citizens are urged to primarily use their personal fuel cards for refueling. They should only resort to stations with emergency cards after completely exhausting both tiers of their monthly personal quota and only in cases of genuine necessity.
For those who have not yet registered for a personal fuel card, Hajian announced that applications can be submitted via the official online portal at fcs.niopd.ir, promising that cards will be dispatched to the owner’s address promptly.
In conclusion, Hajian stressed that these comprehensive measures have been enacted to provide superior service to citizens, enable optimal fuel consumption management, and prevent irregularities in the fuel supply network within Bandar Abbas.
