Ousmar’s Return to Persepolis Finalized: New Backroom Staff Unveiled
TEHRAN – In a decisive move that concludes a prolonged period of negotiation, Osmar Vieira has officially signed a preliminary contract to return as the head coach of Persepolis Football Club. The agreement, finalized in the early hours of Saturday, marks his comeback after a year and a half apart from the popular Tehran-based team.
This appointment sees the Brazilian tactician formally succeed Vahid Hashemian, bringing clarity to the leadership of the club’s technical bench.
A New Technical Team Takes Shape
A key aspect of this managerial change involves the composition of the coaching staff. Reports confirm that Vieira has informed the Persepolis club management that he will be bringing three of his own assistants to Iran. His chosen team will consist of an assistant coach, a fitness trainer, and a performance analyst.
Future of Current Staff Under Review
While the core of his new team is set, Vieira has deferred any final decisions regarding the futures of the current members of the Persepolis technical cadre until after his arrival in the country. However, based on the staff he has selected, it is anticipated that several current members, including Amirhossein Peirovani, Pepe Lusada, Mehrad Khanban, and Michael Oenning, will be departing the club.
In a note of continuity, it has been confirmed that Karim Bagheri will retain his position within the technical staff, ensuring his continued presence alongside Vieira. This strategic appointment is seen as a significant step for Persepolis as they prepare for their upcoming domestic and continental campaigns.
