Title: Iran Advances Rural Housing Initiatives with Millions of Units Renovated
Tehran – In a significant step to bolster rural development and housing security, the Iranian government is reporting substantial progress on several key national housing projects, underscoring a commitment to improving citizen welfare.
Major Milestone in Rural Renovation
During an inspection of the Natural Disasters Research Center of the Housing Foundation, official Manouchehr Khajeh Dalouei announced a major achievement. Of the 5,377,000 existing rural housing units across the country, approximately 3 million have now been successfully renovated and modernized.
This large-scale initiative represents a core part of the nation’s ongoing efforts to enhance living standards and infrastructure in rural communities.
Collaboration on National Housing Drive
Further elaborating on the Housing Foundation’s role, Khajeh Dalouei confirmed its active cooperation in the government’s National Housing Movement plan. As part of this collaborative effort, 295,000 supportive housing units are currently under construction.
To facilitate the allocation of land for this project, the Foundation has also registered 540,000 land plots on the relevant government system, paving the way for future development.
Support for Families and Disaster Recovery
The official also highlighted specialized programs linked to the national plan for a youthful population. These initiatives are designed to provide housing construction facilities for both current residents and those migrating back to villages, aiming to revitalize rural areas.
Khajeh Dalouei reiterated the Foundation’s critical mandate in managing disaster recovery, noting its responsibility for rebuilding all housing units damaged by events such as floods, earthquakes, fires, and war. To date, a remarkable 2,024,000 units affected by natural disasters in both cities and villages have been reconstructed under the Foundation’s management.
