In a significant step for the nation’s industrial sector, Pars Khodro has officially commenced the production of its new domestically produced vehicle, the “Pars Nowa.” The ceremony marks a pivotal moment in Iran’s automotive strategy, highlighting a major investment in the country’s industrial future.
A Symbolic Start for a National Project
The production line was inaugurated in a formal ceremony attended by Ehsan Qazi-Zadeh Hashemi, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly’s Industries and Mines Commission. In a symbolic act, he started the engine of the first Pars Nowa unit, signaling the official beginning of its production phase. The event underscores the project’s alignment with national industrial goals and its importance to the country’s economic development.
Ambitious Goals for Quality and Comfort
The Pars Nowa is being introduced as a new generation of domestically manufactured vehicles, backed by a substantial investment of 1,000 billion Tomans. This significant capital is directed towards achieving key objectives: enhancing overall quality, increasing safety standards, and improving passenger comfort. The launch represents a strategic move to advance the capabilities of Iran’s automotive industry.
Technical Specifications and Market Response
Powering the Pars Nowa is the ME16 engine, a naturally aspirated powertrain. Its core specifications include a 16-valve, four-cylinder configuration with a displacement of 1587 cc. The engine delivers 111 horsepower and 150 Newton-meters of torque.
The project has already generated considerable public interest. According to Qazi-Zadeh Hashemi, over 310,000 applicants have registered for the chance to purchase the initial production run of 20,000 vehicles, indicating strong market anticipation for this new national product.
