Title: Iran Announces Special Employment Exam for Families of Martyrs and Veterans
In a significant move to honor the sacrifices of its defenders, the head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs has announced the details for a dedicated employment examination for their children.
Key Exam Details Finalized
Saeed Ohadi confirmed to reporters that the specialized recruitment exam for the children of martyrs and veterans with 70% and above disability will be held by the end of the current Iranian calendar year in December. This initiative, he stated, is a direct implementation of Article 87, which obligates the government to hold such an annual exam.
Ohadi expressed confidence that all eligible children of martyrs and veterans with 70% disability will be successfully recruited through this process, highlighting the number of defined job codes. Furthermore, he reinforced that, in line with Article 91 of the Support Law, a 30 percent quota in all public employment exams is reserved for the veterans’ community as a whole.
Administrative Streamlining for Recognition
Addressing broader affairs, the official reported that the verification process for all martyrs of the sacred defense has been completed. For other veterans, efforts are underway to obtain necessary clinical documentation from the Ministry of Health so that provincial medical commissions can proceed with their assessments. Ohadi also announced the delegation of greater authority to provincial offices to expedite these administrative processes without relying solely on the central headquarters.
New Developments in National Legislation
Looking forward, Ohadi revealed that highly effective provisions for the veterans’ community have been incorporated into the draft of the 7th National Development Plan, a milestone achieved after 26 years. This comprehensive draft law, prepared through 25,000 hours of expert work and in collaboration with labor representatives and executive bodies, has been submitted to the government. He expressed hope for its swift approval by the cabinet and subsequent submission to the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament).
Housing Initiatives Progressing
On the housing front, the Foundation head reported substantial progress, with 35,000 land parcels allocated to veterans across various provinces over the past 15 months. He confirmed that housing loans have been provided to applicants at a four percent interest rate, as per legal mandates. A new memorandum of understanding has been signed with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to ensure the continuity of this program, with Ohadi expressing optimism for an accelerated pace in these supportive measures.
