Injury Setback for Key Defender
Tehran – Esteghlal FC’s preparations for their upcoming match have been impacted by the continued absence of key players due to injury. The team has been navigating a significant challenge in recent weeks with the unavailability of defender Rouzbeh Cheshmi, and they are also without the services of midfielder Mousa Genpo.
According to the latest reports, neither player will be fit for the match against Aluminium Arak. This development presents a notable hurdle for the team’s coaching staff as they finalize their tactical plans.
Official Confirmation from Club Management
In a clear statement to the club’s supporters, Esteghlal’s team manager, Bijan Taheri, confirmed the situation on Thursday evening. “Unfortunately, Rouzbeh Cheshmi and Mousa Genpo cannot play for us due to their injuries,” Taheri stated. He did, however, offer a positive note on their recovery, adding, “But their treatment process is progressing well.”
While Mousa Genpo is not currently considered a pivotal figure in the coaches’ plans, the team is undoubtedly eager for the swift return of Rouzbeh Cheshmi, a established and influential presence in the squad. Head coach Ricardo Sá Pinto has indicated that Cheshmi’s recovery timeline may extend further, suggesting the defender will also be unavailable for the subsequent fixture against Al-Wehdat.
