Persepolis Embarks on New Era: First Training Session Under Oswaldo de Oliveira
A New Chapter Begins
Tehran – In a significant step for one of Iran’s most prominent football clubs, Persepolis has officially commenced its new chapter under the leadership of Brazilian head coach Oswaldo de Oliveira. The team held its first recovery session following a 1-1 draw against Tractor Sazi in the ninth week of the Persian Gulf Pro League, marking the beginning of a fresh tactical direction for the Reds.
Oswaldo Takes the Helm
The Brazilian manager was present on the training ground, overseeing the proceedings alongside his two assistant coaches who have accompanied him to Iran. Their immediate involvement signifies a swift and organized transition as they begin to implement their methodology and oversee the players’ preparation regimen.
A Unified Technical Staff
A notable aspect of the session was the seamless integration of the coaching staff. All former assistants of the previous manager, Vahid Hashemian, were present at the training. This included Michael Oenning, Amirhossein Pirravani, Karim Bagheri, Mehrad Khanban, and Emilio Alvarez. This collaborative environment meant that players were supervised by a total of eight coaches during the recovery drills, ensuring focused attention. The official status of Oswaldo’s permanent assistant coaches is expected to be finalized within the next two to three days.
Looking Ahead
With 12 points from their opening matches, Persepolis currently holds a provisional fourth-place position in the league standings. The team’s next challenge is a highly anticipated match against Esteghlal Khuzestan on Friday, a fixture that will be an early test for the new managerial setup as they aim to climb the table.
