Iranian Student Support Fund Expands Financial Aid Access
Tehran – In a significant move to bolster student welfare, the head of the Organization for Student Affairs, Saeed Habiba, has announced the opening of the student loan registration period for the current academic year. The initiative, managed by the long-standing Student Support Fund, aims to create a more effective and supportive ecosystem for students across the country.
A Legacy of Student Support
During a visit to the Student Support Fund, which boasts over half a century of service, Mr. Habiba detailed the comprehensive financial assistance programs available. He emphasized that the fund is dedicated to improving student life through various loan schemes, including tuition fees, essential living expenses, and housing deposit loans.
Drive Towards Greater Self-Sufficiency
Highlighting the strategic vision for the fund, Habiba underscored the necessity for more fundamental planning. “We expect that with the transformations envisaged, the fund will achieve greater self-sufficiency relative to state resources,” he stated. This marks a forward-looking approach to ensuring the sustainability and independence of student financial aid programs.
Streamlined Application and Disbursement
In a key operational update, the official confirmed that students can begin submitting their applications for educational loans through the dedicated online system starting Saturday, November 8th. Due to streamlined measures put in place, it is anticipated that these loans will be disbursed to eligible students within one month of application.
Further accelerating support, Habiba, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Science, addressed housing loans, noting that efforts are being made to ensure these funds are paid out rapidly. “In the area of housing loans, we will strive to have them processed and paid within a maximum of one week after the request is registered,” he affirmed.
This expansion of accessible and timely financial support underscores the ongoing commitment to empowering Iranian students and investing in the nation’s academic future.
