Title: Government Expands Social Welfare: New Direct Payments and Digital System Enhance Support
In a significant move to bolster household livelihoods and economic stability, the Iranian government is implementing a new phase of its comprehensive social support program. This initiative includes the direct deposit of cash subsidies and the continued expansion of the electronic goods coupon system for the month of Aban.
Continued Cash Subsidy Payments Through 2025
According to the Targeted Subsidies Organization, the payment of direct cash subsidies to citizens will continue without interruption until the end of the Persian year 1404 (March 2025). For the current month, the schedule is as follows: lower-income deciles (1-3) will receive their 400,000 Tomans per person payment on the 25th of Aban, while middle-income deciles (4-9) will receive 300,000 Tomans per person on the 30th of Aban. This structured approach is designed to provide consistent support and maintain stability in the nation’s welfare distribution system.
Comprehensive Household Support Packages
The support mechanism combines both direct cash transfers and electronic coupons for essential goods. The cumulative financial impact on families is substantial. For instance, a four-person household from the lower-income deciles receives a total of 3,600,000 Tomans monthly—1,600,000 Tomans in cash subsidies and 2,000,000 Tomans in electronic coupons. Middle-income four-person households receive a combined 2,600,000 Tomans.
Focus on Essential Goods and Efficient Resource Allocation
A senior official from the Plan and Budget Organization emphasized that future supportive measures will increasingly concentrate on essential and basic commodities. This strategic focus is intended to effectively reduce living costs for families and ensure that national resources are channeled towards fundamental needs, thereby maximizing the positive impact of the welfare programs.
Digital Transformation with the “SIMIN” System
A key development in the administration of these services is the full operation of the “SIMIN” electronic system. Launched by the Targeted Subsidies Organization, this integrated digital platform represents a major step forward in streamlining welfare services. It provides citizens with a single portal to manage subsidy-related requests, including updating bank account details, registering for the electronic goods coupon scheme, and tracking payment status with precision.
The future roadmap for the SIMIN system includes integrating non-cash subsidies for items such as medicine, wheat, and fuel. The platform is poised to become the central hub for managing all social livelihood support, embodying a commitment to digital transformation, enhanced social justice, and greater administrative transparency.
