Official Rejects Rumors of Fuel Price Increase, Cautions Against Misinformation
A senior government official has issued a firm denial in response to circulating rumors about a potential, sharp increase in the price of gasoline.
Categorical Denial of Price Hike Plans
In a post on a social media platform, Mehdi Tabatabaei addressed the speculation directly, stating, “Do not spread lies.” He emphatically clarified that “there has been no plan for a several-hundred-percent increase in the price of gasoline on the government’s agenda.” He further elaborated that even in proposed plans, the emphasis has consistently been on maintaining the current price of gasoline with the existing quota system.
Commitment to Prudent Economic Management
The official’s statement also underscored the administration’s broader policy direction. He highlighted that President Ebrahim Raisi places special emphasis on avoiding any decision-making without first preparing the necessary economic and social groundwork. This approach signals the government’s commitment to measured and responsible governance, ensuring that the public’s welfare is a primary consideration in all policy matters. The public is urged to rely on official channels for accurate information and to refrain from amplifying unverified claims.
