Title: Tehran Municipality Outlines Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Vehicle Compensation Process
Tehran – In the wake of a recent 12-day conflict, the Tehran Municipality has detailed its comprehensive efforts to manage the aftermath, focusing on housing reconstruction and a newly established mechanism for citizens to claim compensation for vehicle damages.
Proactive Housing Reconstruction Concluded
Mr. Ali Nasiri, the head of Tehran’s Prevention and Crisis Management Organization, announced that the municipality has successfully completed its initiative to rebuild homes damaged during the conflict. He emphasized that while the municipality had no legal obligation to do so, it undertook the responsibility as a civic duty.
“The reconstruction and completion of damaged houses have been finalized, and the properties have been handed back to their owners,” Nasiri stated. “Furthermore, decisions regarding homes that required complete renovation have also been finalized.”
Support for Household Essentials
Addressing another critical need, Nasiri highlighted that while the national government has yet to disburse compensation for the loss of personal belongings and furniture, the Tehran Municipality has stepped in to provide immediate relief.
“In this regard, the municipality devised a plan to supply essential household items for families who lost all or part of their home furnishings,” he explained. “As part of this effort, vouchers with a ceiling of 250 million Tomans have been allocated for the purchase of 16 different types of essential goods from domestic brands.”
Streamlined Vehicle Damage Assessment
A significant part of the announcement focused on providing clarity for citizens with damaged vehicles. Nasiri confirmed that his organization has developed and implemented a formal procedure to assess and process these claims.
“At the Prevention and Crisis Management Organization, we prepared a specific form for estimating damages to vehicles,” he said. “This form was officially issued with the signature of the Mayor of Tehran. The relevant district municipalities in the affected areas have since collected the completed forms, and the police have verified the reported damages.”
This newly established system aims to bring order and transparency to the compensation process, ensuring that citizens receive documented assessments for their claims. The municipality’s multi-faceted response underscores its focus on stabilizing the city and supporting its residents in recovering from the impacts of the conflict.
