Tehran Police Praised for Dismantling Violent Six-Member Robbery Ring
In a significant operation, the Tehran Police Criminal Investigation Department has successfully dismantled a dangerous six-member criminal gang responsible for a series of violent street robberies across the capital. The decisive action has been met with public approval, reinforcing confidence in the forces of law and order.
A Pattern of Crime Unraveled
Colonel Mohsen Hasani, Commander of the 11th Base of Tehran’s Criminal Investigation Police, detailed the operation. He explained that after a meticulous review of numerous violent robbery case files and careful analysis of CCTV footage from crime scenes, investigators identified a pattern. A professional group of thieves, operating as a six-member team, was using three high-speed motorcycles to snatch belongings and forcefully rob citizens in various districts of the capital.
A Coordinated Sting Operation
“In response to this finding, a special team of six expert detectives from the 11th base was formed to identify and apprehend the gang members,” Colonel Hasani stated. Following several days of intensive intelligence surveillance and precise identification of the suspects’ hideouts, the police launched a coordinated, surprise operation. In a swift and decisive move, all six members of the ring were simultaneously arrested at one of their hideouts in the southern part of Tehran.
Recovering the Stolen Goods
A subsequent search of the hideout led to the discovery of a significant quantity of stolen property. Items recovered included mobile phones, handbags, identification documents, and other personal effects. Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify the rightful owners of the recovered items.
Confessions and Ongoing Investigations
During subsequent interrogations, the identified suspects confessed to committing dozens of robberies over the past year. Colonel Hasani emphasized the police’s unwavering commitment to public safety, stating, “The police deal with criminals and thieves with vigilance and authority and will not allow the security of the community to be compromised by lawbreakers.” He added that investigations continue to uncover any other potential crimes committed by this network.
Public Cooperation is Key
Tehran’s Criminal Police have also issued a set of safety guidelines for citizens. The public is advised to avoid displaying mobile phones and valuables while traveling during quiet hours or on side streets. Keeping handbags and personal items secure and being vigilant is strongly recommended. Citizens are urged to report any suspicious individuals immediately by calling the emergency number 110. In the event of a robbery, the public is advised to avoid direct confrontation with the thieves, remain calm, and instead note their descriptions and escape route to report to investigators. Through increased public vigilance and cooperation with the police, citizens can actively contribute to maintaining public security and peace.
