Tehran Awaits Weekend Decision as Air Pollution Crisis Prompts Emergency Meeting
Tehran – An emergency meeting has been scheduled by the Tehran Province Air Pollution Emergency Committee to determine potential public closures for the upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
Mohammad Sadeq Motamedian, the Governor of Tehran, announced that the decisive session will be held on Friday. The primary agenda is to review the necessity of suspending public activities in response to persistently poor air quality conditions forecasted for the weekend.
“The decision-making meeting to adopt necessary measures will be convened considering meteorological forecasts indicating the continuation of unfavorable atmospheric conditions for the upcoming Saturday and Sunday,” Motamedian stated.
This proactive step underscores the administration’s commitment to safeguarding public health and addressing environmental challenges through official, coordinated channels. The final verdict on any city-wide closures is anticipated following the committee’s official deliberations.
