Title: Health Official Reports Notable Increase in Influenza Cases, Advises Public on Symptoms and Treatment
Tehran – A significant rise in influenza infections has been recorded this year compared to the same period last year, according to a public health announcement.
A Marked Increase in Cases
Health official Qobad Moradi stated that comparative analyses indicate the rate of influenza infection has seen a considerable uptick in the current year. The data points to a steeper growth curve in cases, highlighting the heightened circulation of the virus within the community.
Recognizing the Symptoms
Moradi detailed the common symptoms currently associated with the flu. The illness primarily presents as an inflammation of the respiratory system, accompanied by cough, runny nose, sore throat, body aches, and mild fever. He added that while these are the general signs, infections in children can be marked by a higher probability of severe fever.
In some instances, the official noted, the disease may also be accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms.
A Critical Advisory on Treatment
Concluding his remarks, Moradi issued a crucial advisory for the public, emphasizing that bacterial antibiotics have no effect whatsoever on the influenza virus. This clarification aims to prevent the misuse of medications and guide individuals toward appropriate care and consultation with healthcare professionals.
