The Iranian Meteorological Organization has issued a weather alert, predicting thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds across 16 provinces today (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday).
Today’s Forecast:
Regions in the northwest, including Gilan and Mazandaran, as well as parts of the central Alborz and Zagros mountain ranges, will experience heavy showers, occasional lightning, and strong temporary winds. Similar conditions are expected in Hormozgan, southern Kerman, and southeastern Fars.
Monday’s Outlook:
The northern half of the northwest, the Caspian Sea coast, and North Khorasan will see cloudiness, northern winds, a slight temperature drop, and scattered thunderstorms. Meanwhile, northern Khuzestan, parts of Ilam, Lorestan, and elevated areas of Kermanshah, Hamedan, Markazi, Hormozgan, and southern Fars can expect increased cloud cover, heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds—particularly in the afternoon.
Extended Forecast: Midweek Weather Patterns
From Tuesday to Thursday, western Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, parts of the Caspian coast, North Khorasan, and the central Alborz highlands will witness cloudy skies, gusty winds, and sporadic showers. These conditions will persist on Thursday in eastern Caspian coastal areas, North Khorasan, and the Alborz mountains, while the rest of the country remains stable.
Additional Weather Warnings
Over the next five days, strong winds—sometimes accompanied by dust storms and reduced air quality—are expected in the eastern provinces, particularly South Khorasan and northern Sistan and Baluchestan (Zabol region), as well as the southern slopes of the Alborz. Similar conditions will affect Ilam and Khuzestan from Monday to Wednesday.
