Surpassing the comedy Molotov Cocktail, it earned 22.2 billion tomans in weekly sales, bringing its total revenue to 67 billion tomans. The film attracted 279,000 viewers and performed strongest on Friday, with 5.2 billion tomans in ticket sales. Currently screening in 540 theaters, it remains a formidable contender in this year’s cinematic race.
The Old Man and the Boy Holds Strong
Meanwhile, The Old Man and the Boy, directed by Aktay Brahui, solidified its position as the second highest-grossing film of the year, earning 16 billion tomans last week. With a cumulative revenue of 130 billion tomans, it outperformed Woman and Child by a narrow margin. The film drew 177,000 viewers and saw its strongest sales on Friday, reaching 3.56 billion tomans.
Other Notable Performances
- Woman and Child (Dir. Saeed Roustaee) held steady in third place, earning 14.6 billion tomans last week, with total sales reaching 52 billion tomans.
