Rewritten Title:
Military Retirees to See 1 Million Tomans Deducted from August Paychecks for Backup Accounts
Backup Account Initiative for Armed Forces Retirees
A deduction of 1 million tomans from the August salaries of armed forces retirees will be transferred to their newly opened backup accounts at Bank Tejarat. Accessing these funds requires retirees to obtain a Bank Tejarat debit card.
Amir Rahbar, an official from the Armed Forces Pension Fund, stated that this measure aims to ensure stability and consistency in pension payments. He urged retirees who have not yet obtained their debit cards to visit Bank Tejarat branches gradually to complete the process.
Bank Tejarat’s Response to High Demand
The Armed Forces Pension Organization clarified in an official statement that a large number of retirees have already visited Bank Tejarat branches nationwide to activate their accounts and receive their cards. Despite the high volume of requests, the bank has extended working hours and even operated on holidays to accommodate retirees efficiently.
The statement emphasized that the backup accounts were introduced to streamline future payments and ensure retirees receive their pensions on time, even under exceptional circumstances. Retirees were advised to avoid early visits and instead schedule their branch trips before August 31 to minimize crowding.
Why Were Backup Accounts Introduced?
The pension fund launched this initiative to enhance financial services and facilitate long-term welfare plans. A portion of retirees’ July salaries was transferred to these accounts, which became active on August 1.
However, operational challenges—such as delays in card issuance due to system overload—have caused frustration among retirees, many of whom rely on timely payments for medical and daily expenses.
Proposed Solutions to Improve the Process
To address concerns, experts recommend:
- Clear scheduling of branch visits to reduce overcrowding.
- Regional activation of card issuance systems.
- Official notifications via SMS, websites, and media about active branches.
- Online appointment booking for card collection.
- 24/7 hotline support to resolve retirees’ queries.
Looking Ahead
While the backup account system is designed to improve financial security for retirees, its success depends on smoother execution. Authorities are urged to prioritize retirees’ dignity by resolving technical and logistical issues promptly.
With continued coordination between Bank Tejarat and the pension fund, the process is expected to stabilize, ensuring retirees can access their funds without unnecessary delays.
