President Pezeshkian: Iran Fortifies National Resilience Through Food Security and Enhanced Healthcare Amidst External Aggression
Tehran, Iran – President Masoud Pezeshkian has unveiled a comprehensive national strategy, firmly declaring food security and a robust healthcare system as critical frontlines of Iran’s resilience against perceived external threats. In a series of high-level meetings, President Pezeshkian underscored the imperative of national preparedness, linking the nation’s well-being directly to its ability to confront “aggressive attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime.”
The President’s directives emphasize bolstering strategic reserves, optimizing supply chains, and empowering local governance to ensure stability and public welfare during what he described as “current sensitive conditions” and a “battle with American-Zionist aggressors.”
Bolstering National Healthcare and Care for War Heroes
During his review of the nation’s healthcare sector, President Pezeshkian received detailed reports on the status of those injured and affected by the ongoing perceived attacks, as well as other patients in medical centers. He called for the full readiness of the health system to counter any threat or crisis, demanding expedited treatment and rehabilitation for those injured. This includes leveraging all specialized and super-specialized capacities, such as advanced treatment centers and mobile medical teams, to deliver high-quality care.
President Pezeshkian also meticulously reviewed the strategic reserves of medicines, vaccines, and surgical equipment. He stressed the continuous monitoring of inventories and the timely procurement of necessities through domestic supply chains, and, when critical, through international channels, prioritizing wartime medical needs. He lauded the “jihadist” efforts of healthcare personnel on the frontlines of service, particularly during the “difficult current days,” acknowledging their exemplary dedication as an invaluable asset to the nation’s health system. The President affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health in its mission.
Ensuring Food Security and Economic Stability
A cornerstone of President Pezeshkian’s strategy is guaranteeing food security for the populace. After receiving detailed reports from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad on the supply, production, and distribution of strategic goods, the President emphasized the critical importance of maintaining the stability of these strategic reserves across the country.
He expressed satisfaction with the agricultural sector’s role in stabilizing the market, stating, “Today, as the country is engaged in a battle with American-Zionist aggressors, precise management of the supply chain from goods to people’s tables and preventing price fluctuations is the greatest service to the community’s livelihood and strengthening the country’s social capital.” Pezeshkian highlighted the timely provision of inputs, support for small-scale producers, and the utilization of knowledge-based companies as vital pillars ensuring current market stability. He reiterated the need for continued discipline in distribution and smart monitoring of supply networks to prevent any disruption to public needs and maintain societal calm.
Decentralized Governance for Wartime Efficiency
President Pezeshkian also placed significant emphasis on the role of provincial governors, empowering them with delegated authorities to manage daily affairs effectively. He drew upon a successful historical model of executive management during a challenging period, which demonstrated that decentralizing responsibilities and delegating powers to governors plays a crucial role in better managing affairs and meeting public needs.
He noted that this successful approach is being replicated today, commending governors for their steadfastness and bravery. The President shared that during his contact with governors, they assured the central government of their provinces’ stability, allowing national leadership to focus on broader issues. He expressed his gratitude to all governors for their robust presence “in the field” during what he termed “these historic days.”
President Pezeshkian’s address underscores a national resolve to enhance self-reliance and internal strength, ensuring the well-being and stability of the Iranian people amidst a politically charged and challenging regional environment.
