Iranian Foreign Ministry Accuses EU of Complicity Over US-Israel ‘Aggression’
Tehran, Iran – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of the European Union, asserting that Europe’s perceived indifference and appeasement towards what it describes as aggression and brutalities by the United States and Israel amount to active complicity. The forceful statement came from Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, who underscored the international community’s scrutiny of these dynamics.
A Call for Truth and Accountability
Taking to the social media platform X, Mr. Baghaei amplified a video featuring Marc Botenga, a Member of the European Parliament. In the clip, Botenga critically addressed what he saw as the apathy and support from certain European nations regarding “crimes” allegedly committed by the US and the Israeli regime against Iran.
Echoing and expanding on this European critique, Baghaei emphasized the moral imperative of speaking out. “By speaking the truth, you choose the right side of history,” he declared in his accompanying post.
Defining European Indifference as Complicity
The Iranian spokesperson did not hesitate to categorize the EU’s stance, framing its inaction as a form of active participation in the alleged transgressions. “The indifference and appeasement of the European Union in the face of the aggression, brutalities, and crimes of America and Israel is nothing less than complicity and participation,” Baghaei asserted unequivocally.
Concluding his message, he issued a stark reminder of global observation, stating: “The world is watching.” His remarks underscore Tehran’s persistent call for the international community, particularly European states, to adopt a more principled and critical approach to US and Israeli actions in the region.
