Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson has strongly condemned recent Israeli attacks on Iran, emphasizing that the region can no longer withstand increased tension.
According to Fars News Agency’s international group, Majed Al-Ansari, the spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated, “Regional security cannot bear more crises and escalation of tension.” Quoting Al Jazeera Mubasher, he added that regional countries had joined efforts to support an agreement between Washington and Tehran.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that negotiations between Iran and the United States were progressing well before the Israeli attacks. He affirmed that the United States is keen on reaching a diplomatic solution to the current crisis.
Al-Ansari issued a warning against the “reckless targeting” of energy facilities in Iran, describing Israel’s actions as “imprudent” with potential consequences for oil prices. He reiterated that Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underscore the necessity of de-escalation in the region. Al-Ansari also mentioned discussions with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on ways to strengthen the security of nuclear facilities, highlighting that targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities threatens the security and stability of the region.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson affirmed that their contacts for achieving calm following the dangerous escalation in the region are ongoing, stressing that “the only way out of the current crisis is through the negotiation table.” He expressed Qatar’s commitment to stopping Israeli aggression as soon as possible, warning that if the escalation is not halted, “we may see greater consequences.”
Al-Ansari specifically called the targeting of the Pars gas field an “imprudent act” and described Israel’s “irresponsible attacks” against Iranian energy facilities as “very concerning.” He also confirmed that Qatar is monitoring the situation, with no signs of radioactive contamination in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
The Qatari official emphasized ongoing efforts to establish calm between Israel and Iran and to resume negotiations between Washington and Tehran. He further stated that Qatar’s efforts for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip are continuing, and there is no solution to the humanitarian situation in Gaza “unless we pressure Israel to allow aid without any conditions.” Al-Ansari added that the escalation between Israel and Iran is delaying a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Finally, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson assured that Qatar’s gas supply is proceeding normally, prioritizing the safety of workers in energy facilities and maintaining regular production.
