Iran Launches ‘Mehr Afarin’ National Travel Scheme for Educators
In a significant move to enhance the social welfare of its dedicated educational workforce, Iran has unveiled a new national initiative to provide extensive travel benefits for the country’s teachers.
A New Chapter in Educator Welfare
Mr. Ali Sadeghi, the CEO of the Teachers’ Savings Fund Institute, announced the imminent launch of the “Mehr Afarin Cultural National Plan.” This ambitious scheme is designed to provide travel facilities for over 1.8 million active and retired educators who are members of the institute, along with their families.
The program, a collaborative effort with the ‘Economy and Welfare of Culturalians’ company, represents a major investment in the well-being of those who form the backbone of the nation’s education system.
How the Travel Scheme Works
The initiative offers a highly accessible financial model to make travel more affordable. Educators can enjoy stays at three- and four-star hotels by paying only half of the trip’s cost upfront in cash. The remaining balance can be conveniently settled in up to 11 monthly installments, deducted directly from their salaries.
According to the detailed plan, a three-night, four-day package for a teacher and two family members is projected to cost 12 million tomans, with an additional 4 million tomans for each extra person. This comprehensive cost includes full accommodation and three complete meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
Boosting Social Vitality and National Tourism
Mr. Sadeghi emphasized that the plan’s execution is a crucial step towards elevating the welfare of educators and increasing social vitality for their families. Upon full implementation, the scheme is projected to facilitate travel for over 800 educators and their family members each week.
To ensure the highest quality of service, the institute has signed a memorandum of understanding with a service provider and will leverage the capabilities of its subsidiary companies in the aviation and tourism sectors. Mr. Sadeghi has pledged personal oversight to guarantee the plan’s successful execution, noting that its success will pave the way for other welfare programs to be launched subsequently.
A Commitment to Educators’ Dignity
The initiative was further supported by Mr. Shokuhi, Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors, who referenced the recent formation of the ‘Committee for the Dignity and Welfare of Culturalians.’ He stated that the committee’s fundamental mission is to preserve the honor and esteemed status of educators, and this travel plan is a direct result of its proposals.
The tourism scheme will offer full-service packages—including accommodation and all meals—at high-standard three-star plus and four-star hotels in key tourist and pilgrimage cities across Iran, such as Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kish, Babolsar, Gorgan, and Chaboksar.
This national plan underscores a deep-seated commitment to honoring the teaching community, providing them with well-deserved opportunities for leisure and cultural enrichment within the nation.
