University Applications Open: Key Dates and Process Announced for 2024 National Entrance Exam
Tehran – The head of the National Organization of Educational Testing (Sanjesh) has announced the official timeline for the university application process following the 2024 National University Entrance Exam (Konkur).
In a press conference held today at the organization’s headquarters, Dr. Reza Mohammadi provided a detailed briefing for prospective students. He confirmed that the initial results for the second round of the national exam, including raw and total scores, were published on August 15th. The comprehensive scorecards, which include a student’s best specific exam score, academic record score, final total score, as well as their quota-based and national rankings, are now accessible for candidates to view in their personal accounts on the Sanjesh system.
Application Window and Guidebook
Dr. Mohammadi emphasized that the scorecards, which serve as the basis for application selections, were made available to all qualified candidates on August 30th. These students are now permitted to select up to 150 field-university codes during the application process.
The application phase is set to begin shortly. The crucial application guidebook will be released tomorrow, Sunday, September 1st. The application window itself is scheduled to open on September 2nd and will run through September 6th, giving candidates a five-day period to finalize their choices.
A National Endeavor
Dr. Mohammadi highlighted the significance of the annual exam, describing it as the country’s second-largest national event after elections and its premier academic event. He expressed satisfaction that the organization successfully published the essential academic results within a minimal timeframe this year, ensuring the university academic calendar remains on track.
“The earlier announcement of results this year, compared to last, aligns with the emphasis placed on accelerating the scientific pace of our academic and elite systems,” Dr. Mohammadi stated. “We are committed to this goal and worked diligently to prepare the results for universities in a timely manner. Delays in the academic year’s start can impact the quality of the university system, and it was a priority for us to recover any lost time and even shorten the process where possible.”
