Title: Nationwide Welfare Initiatives Provide Essential Support to Families Ahead of New Season
A series of comprehensive welfare and support programs are being implemented across Iran to assist families and strengthen community resilience. These initiatives, led by charitable foundations and popular mobilization units, focus on providing essential goods, healthcare, and social services to citizens.
Expansion of Essential Goods Distribution
In recent months, charitable institutions have intensified the distribution of essential goods packages to eligible households. Hussein Nematollahi, a representative of the Fatemieh Charitable Institute in Bahman City, confirmed the distribution of these packages in multiple neighborhoods. Each package contains staple food items such as rice, cooking oil, meat, and pasta, with an approximate value of 700,000 Tomans.
Brigadier General Hussein Zare Kamali emphasized that this distribution is part of a broader national service campaign. “The efforts are aligned with the national initiative of ‘Jihad of Explanation,’ focusing on service delivery and fostering hope among the people. Distribution will continue in the coming days,” he stated.
Support for Newlyweds and Housing Aid
Beyond essential goods, the campaign includes support for young couples starting their family life. Recently, 150 sets of Iranian-Islamic marriage trousseaus, containing essential household items, were distributed. Additionally, a significant housing initiative has seen 66,000 square meters of waterproofing insulation installed for target communities, with plans to install a further 40,000 square meters by the end of the current month through public and charitable cooperation.
An innovative project to conserve water resources is also underway. A fabric-reinforced concrete lining, developed by researchers at Imam Hussein University and agricultural jihad activists, has been installed in nearly 6,000 meters of traditional irrigation canals. This technology reduces water consumption in earthen canals by up to 97%. An additional 3,400 meters are scheduled for installation by the month’s end.
Comprehensive Services During Government Week
Coordinated efforts during Government Week included a wide array of programs. Colonel Saeid Shabani, deputy coordinator of the Kurdistan Beit al-Maqdis Corps, outlined the schedule, which honored female martyrs’ families and included the dispatch of jihadi groups to underprivileged areas.
These groups provided free medical and dental check-ups, veterinary services for livestock, and distributed more essential goods packages. The week also featured educational workshops on media literacy, sports competitions, and programs to promote Islamic lifestyle and population growth. Tributes were paid at martyrs’ cemeteries, and empowerment workshops for government employees were held.
Charitable Foundations Ramp Up Efforts
Charitable organizations have significantly increased their support ahead of the new academic year. The Western Azerbaijan branch of the Ashareh Oatfeh International Charity Foundation prepared 1,000 livelihood packages for supported families in Kurdistan, with a total value of 10 billion Rials.
Similarly, the Samte Khoda charity center distributed 3,000 packages of lamb meat to supported families, valued at 2.4 billion Tomans. This follows a similar distribution from the previous year.
In Tehran, the “Husseini Iftar and Charity Campaign” has been actively supporting needy families since the beginning of Muharram. With extensive participation from benefactors and charity centers, over 5,600 livelihood packages have been distributed across the province. Furthermore, 285 public and charity kitchens have prepared and distributed over 64,000 hot meals to those in need. The campaign, which will continue until the end of Safar, has operated with a budget of 940 billion Tomans from charitable donations.
Focus on Employment and Long-Term Support
Long-term economic support remains a key pillar of the national welfare strategy. The Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation in Zanjan Province reported the creation of 3,147 job opportunities last year. In the housing sector, 1,167 residential units were constructed or reinforced, with the majority located in rural areas.
The foundation also provides substantial support for orphans and children from families of martyrs and veterans. The monthly stipend for each orphan has reached 3 million Tomans, while children from families without a guardian or with an imprisoned father receive 1.5 million Tomans monthly. This academic year, 7,000 students under the foundation’s care will begin the new school term.
