Title: Government Launches Major Educational Equity Initiative with Public Partnership at its Core
Tehran – In a significant move to advance educational development, the Iranian government has announced the expansion of its flagship “Educational Justice Movement” plan, emphasizing a citizen-led approach to national progress.
A Strategy of Collective Action
Mr. Hamidreza Khanmohammadi, Head of the Organization for Development, Renovation, and Equipping of Schools, outlined the government’s vision. He stated that the policy is fundamentally based on public participation, designed to address challenges related to educational infrastructure and equipment without placing a new financial burden on the state.
“The 14th government, in line with the President’s emphasis, is pursuing two main pillars of education: the development of educational spaces and the enhancement of the education system’s quality, through a people-centric model,” Khanmohammadi said.
The Shahid Ajemian Plan: A Model of Success
A central component of this effort is the “Shahid Ajemian” plan, a nationwide initiative already overseeing the renovation of 110,000 classrooms. Khanmohammadi highlighted this project as a successful example of effective collaboration between the state and the people.
“The Shahid Ajemian plan is a people’s project,” he affirmed. “While our organization provides the necessary cooperation and facilitation, the people are the main drivers of this work.” He added that the President has consistently emphasized that with public participation across all sectors, no task in the country would remain unfinished.
Nationwide Progress and Future Goals
The official reported substantial progress, announcing that 7,200 school construction projects, encompassing 46,000 classrooms, are currently being executed across the country. These projects, launched three years ago with the cooperation of various public and jihadi groups, aim to improve and revitalize schools in less privileged areas.
Khanmohammadi stressed the importance of unity among all stakeholders—including the public, benefactors, and corporations—to ensure the seamless execution of these plans. “The President’s approach of paying special attention to the participation of the people, benefactors, and companies can play a pivotal, problem-solving role,” he noted.
With the new academic year approaching, efforts are focused on ensuring that all registered projects become operational. The continued partnership between the government and charitable benefactors is seen as crucial to maintaining this strong momentum and achieving the overarching goal of developing educational justice for all.
