Iran Announces Major Financial Support for Educators and Retirees
In a significant move to support its public sector workforce, Iran’s Civil Servants Retirement Organization has announced the rollout of two new financial aid packages aimed at educators and retirees. The initiatives include marriage loans for retirees’ children and grants supporting student theses, alongside a special banking festival offering substantial monetary prizes.
Marriage Loans for Retirees’ Children Begin Distribution
Dr. Oghani Arani, Deputy for Management and Resource Development of the Retirement Organization, confirmed the disbursement of 60-million-toman marriage loans for the children of retirees. The first phase of this initiative has already reached approximately 16,000 eligible individuals. The loan carries a 5% service fee and is repayable over 60 months. A second phase is scheduled shortly, extending the same benefit to an additional 16,000 people.
Thesis Support Grants for Students
Alongside the marriage loan program, the organization has also processed grants under the “Thesis Support Scheme” (Hampad). A total of 218 doctoral students have received 15 million tomans each, while 445 master’s students have been granted 10 million tomans each to assist with academic research costs.
Special Banking Festival for Educators
In a complementary show of support, Iran’s Export Bank is launching a special festival to honor both active and retired educators. Participants can qualify for a lottery with significant prizes by maintaining or increasing their average account balance until September 5.
Prizes include:
- Six grand prizes of 100 million tomans: three for retired educators and three for active ones with the highest scores.
- 1,480 prizes of 7.4 million tomans each: awarded via lottery to 740 individuals from each group.
These financial measures and supportive programs underscore ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and livelihood of educators and pensioners, reflecting a commitment to valuing their contributions to society.
