Subsidy Deposits for Electronic Ration Cards Commence September 10th, Targeting Lower-Income Families
Tehran – In a move to strengthen social welfare, the fourth phase of the government’s electronic ration card scheme is set to be implemented, with deposits beginning this week for eligible citizens.
Deposit Date and Eligibility Confirmed
The Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare, Ahmad Meydari, officially announced that the disbursement for the fourth phase of the electronic ration card plan will commence on Wednesday, September 10th. This phase will specifically benefit the first three income deciles, representing households with the lowest earnings in the country.
The Minister stated that the transfer of funds will coincide with the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens during significant times.
Substantial Financial Backing for the Scheme
The implementation follows the successful allocation of substantial financial resources to the program. On September 2nd, the Managing Director of the Targeted Subsidies Organization, Hassan Norouzi, confirmed that a sum of 27 trillion tomans had been transferred to the account of the company executing the ration card plan.
This allocation was made following directives from the government to provide continued support for low-income groups and to strengthen their food baskets. The necessary funding was secured and provided by the country’s Plan and Budget Organization, ensuring the timely launch of this phase of the vital support program.
The initiative reflects the ongoing policy of providing direct assistance to strengthen the purchasing power of vulnerable segments of society.
