National Housing Movement: Push for Swift Completion as Progress Continues
In a significant development for Iran’s National Housing Movement, buyers in Phase 7 of the new city of Parand have received official notifications urging them to increase their initial investment to ensure the timely completion of their units.
A Call to Accelerate Progress
Prospective homeowners were notified via text message by the Omran New City of Parand Development Company. The message stated that to ensure the “continuation of executive operations and the physical progress of the project,” it is essential for applicants to swiftly increase their down payment by up to 800 million tomans. The notice clarified that failure to meet this new financial requirement could result in the applicant’s priority status being reduced and their assignment transferred to a different project or block more aligned with their current investment level.
This move is presented as a necessary step to maintain the project’s momentum and physical advancement.
Balancing Progress with Public Assurance
While the push for increased funding is framed as essential for progress, it has highlighted the need for consistent communication. Some applicants have expressed concerns about a lack of accessible information regarding the exact status of the projects, despite the company’s assurances of ongoing work. For many, securing such a significant additional sum presents a considerable financial challenge.
The National Housing Movement was launched with the key objective of facilitating homeownership for the public. The recent directives are part of the complex logistical and financial efforts required to see these large-scale projects through to completion.
Government Focus on Delivery and Infrastructure
In contrast to these challenges, official reports from various provinces indicate substantial progress. For instance, in Zanjan Province, the Director-General of Roads and Urban Development announced that housing projects under the national movement have reached 85% physical completion.
The official, Mr. Shahin Far, reported that executive operations have begun on 19,797 residential units, all of which have established contracts with builders. He emphasized that all supportive housing schemes in the province are active and that the execution process is progressing well, with a continuous and organized schedule for delivering units.
“The government and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development have taken the necessary measures to shorten the time it takes for applicants to receive their units,” Mr. Far stated. He added that the executive process of the projects is moving at an appropriate speed and that residential units, along with basic infrastructure such as water, electricity, and gas, are being gradually delivered to applicants.
A Commitment to Completion
The Director-General underscored Zanjan’s significant share in the construction of National Housing Movement units. He confirmed that continuous follow-ups will ensure these projects are completed and made operational within the current year. Furthermore, the provincial Department of Roads and Urban Development plans to place a strong emphasis on precise management and planning to accelerate the completion process.
This situation underscores the active and ongoing efforts by Iranian authorities to manage the large-scale National Housing Movement, balancing financial realities with the commitment to deliver on its promises to the people.
