Iran’s Fourth Gold Coin Pre-Sale Launches Amid Platform Access Issues
TEHRAN – The Central Bank of Iran’s fourth phase of gold coin pre-registration commenced today, Saturday, at 12:00 PM local time. The highly anticipated public offering, however, was met with technical disruptions as the official platform became inaccessible to many citizens at the launch time.
Scheduled Offering Details
According to the official schedule released by the Central Bank, the pre-sale registration was structured in specific time windows for different coin denominations:
- Full Gold Coins: Registration from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
- Half Gold Coins: Registration from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
- Quarter Gold Coins: Registration from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Prospective buyers were required to register and verify their identity exclusively through the official Iran Mercantile Exchange portal at market.ice.ir.
Platform Accessibility Challenges
At the time of the launch, numerous users reported being unable to access the designated platform. Upon attempting to visit the site, individuals were met with a message stating, “Access to this system is only possible from inside Iran. If you are using any kind of VPN, please turn it off,” accompanied by a 504 Gateway Timeout error. Reports confirm that these access issues persisted even for users within the country who were not utilizing VPN services.
The technical disruption marks a significant challenge for the administration of the public offering, which is a key economic initiative. Authorities are expected to address the platform’s stability to ensure equitable public access for the remainder of the registration period.
