Nepal’s Prime Minister in Mourning as Wife is Cremated in Solemn Rites
Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, is observing a period of mourning following the passing of his wife, Sita Dahal.
Mrs. Dahal, who had been receiving medical treatment for a prolonged illness, was cremated on Saturday at the Aryaghat cremation site along the banks of the holy Bagmati River in Kathmandu. The funeral rites were conducted in accordance with traditional Hindu rituals, attended by close family members, senior government officials, and dignitaries.
