Navigating Your Studies: A Guide to Azad University’s Financial Support Programs
In a significant move to support its student body and alleviate financial pressures on families, the Islamic Azad University has unveiled a comprehensive suite of financial aid and loan options. The initiatives, aligned with national budgetary policies, are designed to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder academic progress.
Dariush Javid, the university’s Vice President of Financial Affairs, detailed the various programs available to students, highlighting a streamlined process that removes traditional bureaucratic hurdles.
Direct University Loans: Quick and Accessible
A key feature of the support system is the direct access to short and medium-term loans through the university’s “Amoozeshgar” system during course registration.
- Students can opt for an interest-free, four-month short-term loan.
- Alternatively, a medium-term loan with a 12-month repayment period is available at a low 4% interest rate.
“The use of these facilities does not require complex credit filing or complicated procedures,” Javid stated. “It can be allocated with a simple tick in the Amoozeshgar system.”
Expanded Facilities Through National Partnerships
Beyond its internal mechanisms, the university has leveraged its partnerships with national banking institutions and resources allocated by the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Health to secure further financing. Students can now apply for loans with favorable interest rates between 2% and 4% by visiting the welfare fund of their respective university branch.
Substantial Tuition Relief for Key Disciplines
In a major commitment to supporting education in critical fields, the university has established a substantial tuition relief program for medical students.
- Students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine are eligible for a 50% tuition waiver.
- Other options include transferring 25% of the tuition fees from the first three years to the subsequent three years, or the allocation of the full tuition amount through financial aid.
A Commitment to Uninterrupted Education
Vice President Javid emphasized that the core mission is to prevent financial hardship from disrupting a student’s academic journey. The university has empowered branch financial managers with the authority to ensure that students facing economic challenges can seamlessly navigate course selection, add/drop periods, and other academic processes.
“All our effort is to ensure no pressure is put on the economy of families,” Javid concluded, “so that students can continue their education without financial worry.”
