Kerman Province Braces for Significant Weather Shift: Officials Issue Safety Advisory
A notable shift in weather patterns is forecast for Kerman province, prompting officials to issue a public advisory for residents and travelers. According to a report by Tasnim, a yellow weather warning has been declared due to predictions of unstable atmospheric conditions.
Unstable Conditions and Expected Hazards
Maryam Salajeqe, an expert at the Kerman Meteorological Center, indicated that from Thursday afternoon through the following Tuesday, the influx of warm, humid southern air masses will create unstable weather across many areas of the province. This will be particularly pronounced in the southern half, southwestern regions, and central highlands.
The public is advised to anticipate convective cloud formation, sporadic heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, temporary strong winds, and potential hail in some areas. The intensity of the precipitation is expected to be highest in the counties of Baft, Arzuiyeh, Jiroft, Faryab, Kahnuj, and Manujan.
Risks of Flooding and Dust Phenomena
Highlighting the sudden nature of these expected showers, the expert strongly warned of a high probability of street flooding, the torrential flow of seasonal waterways, and the overflow of seasonal rivers. Citizens are urged to avoid stopping near riverbanks, refrain from traveling on mountain roads, and postpone ascents to high elevations during this period.
Concurrently, the northern, eastern, and parts of the central and northwestern regions of the province are likely to experience an increase in dust concentration and reduced air quality due to the transfer of dust from neighboring provinces.
Temperature Drop and Continued Caution
A noticeable drop in temperature is also predicted across most areas of the province, starting at the beginning of next week, bringing cooler conditions.
The meteorological center reiterates its recommendations for the public to exercise caution, especially on mountain roads, to heed all subsequent weather forecasts, and to strictly follow the guidance and warnings issued by crisis management officials to ensure public safety.
