Bank Saderat Iran Invests in Golstan’s Prosperity with 5,300 Financial Grants
In a significant move to bolster economic and social development, Bank Saderat Iran has substantially expanded its services in Golstan province during the first half of this year. The bank’s strategic initiatives have provided crucial support to thousands of citizens and local businesses, reinforcing its role as a key partner in the region’s progress.
Expansive Financial Support
According to official reports, the bank’s 34 branches across Golstan processed a remarkable 38,718 instances of financial aid. This support package included various forms of interest-free loans (Qard-al-Hasanah), Rial-denominated facilities, and banking commitments. The comprehensive effort was designed to assist over 5,300 individuals, economic activists, and industrial players in improving their livelihoods and fostering professional growth across diverse sectors. Key beneficiary areas included services, commerce, construction, industry, mining, and agriculture.
Targeted Social and Economic Programs
A detailed breakdown reveals that nearly 3,000 interest-free and mandated loans were disbursed, with a total value of 5,980 billion Rials. Furthermore, approximately 2,300 facilities were allocated under various Islamic banking contracts and commitments. A core component of this social support targeted family formation, with nearly 800 individuals benefiting from marriage and dowry loans, and over 650 receiving loans to support childbearing.
Beyond individual support, the bank’s branches have actively financed home-based businesses in collaboration with public organizations and NGOs. Housing loans have also been a priority, with programs extended to both urban and rural areas, including cities like Gorgan, Azadshahr, Aqqala, and Bandar Gaz.
Bolstering Local Industry
The bank’s strategy also focused on empowering the local industrial and productive base. Several prominent provincial companies were among the beneficiaries, including Golchin Qaboos Food Products Company, Kimia Industries Covering Company, and Behban Faramed Pharmaceutical Company. This direct support for production units underscores the bank’s commitment to strengthening Golstan’s economic infrastructure and self-sufficiency.
A Region of Cultural Richness
The report highlighted Golstan’s unique status within Iran. Known not only for its cotton production and as the “land of white gold,” the province is also celebrated as the “Picture Gallery of Iran” and a “Rainbow of Cultures” due to its diverse ethnicities and stunning natural beauty. The historical significance of its capital, Gorgan—once known as Hyrcania in Greek sources and Astarabad until 1937—further enriches the cultural tapestry of this dynamic region.
