Title: New 30 Million Tomans Medical Loan Announced for Armed Forces Retirees
In a significant move to support its veterans, the Armed Forces Retirement Organization has announced detailed conditions for accessing a new medical loan facility. This initiative is designed to provide crucial financial assistance for healthcare costs not covered by standard insurance.
Eligible Recipients and Covered Treatments
The loan is available to retirees, their spouses, and their dependent children. It is specifically intended to cover substantial medical expenses that exceed existing insurance commitments. Approved treatments and costs include:
- Kidney transplants
- Bone marrow transplants
- Cochlear implants for individuals over five years old
- Genetic testing and bone grafts
- Purchase of medical equipment and devices
- Prescription medications outside of insurance coverage
- Other hospital costs not covered by insurance, pending official approval from the organization.
Loan Conditions and Application Process
To qualify for the loan, applicants must meet specific criteria:
- The outstanding, unpaid medical bill must exceed 5 million tomans.
- All expense documentation must be verified and approved by the subscribers’ insurance unit or the financial department of the medical services administration.
- The maximum loan amount is set at 30 million tomans and is offered interest-free (Qard-al-Hassanah). The final approved amount will be determined by the Saba headquarters.
Expedited Access for Urgent Cases
A key feature of this program addresses urgent needs. If a patient requires medical equipment or must make an advance payment to a hospital or medical center before a surgery but lacks the immediate funds, they can request an urgent review. This is done by submitting a pro-forma invoice and a doctor’s order to the organization. Upon approval, the loan can be disbursed even prior to the surgical procedure.
Eligible retirees are directed to apply for this financial facility through their local Armed Forces Retirement Office.
