Title: New Subsidy Disbursement Bolsters Support for Armed Forces Retirees
Article:
In a move underscoring the government’s commitment to social welfare, a new round of electronic subsidy vouchers has been deposited for retirees of the armed forces. The initiative, part of a sustained support program, is designed to directly enhance the purchasing power of retirees and their families.
Direct Support for Retirees
Amir Rahbar, an official with the armed forces pension fund, announced that the “Hekmat Card” vouchers for the current month have been credited. He confirmed that the process for all eligible retirees who receive organizational subsidies will be completed by the end of the week.
This development allows retirees to immediately use their credited cards at the nationwide Etka chain stores to purchase essential goods.
Structured Household Allocations
The value of the subsidy is scaled according to household size, ensuring tailored support:
- Single-person households: 520,000 Tomans
- Two-person households: 1,040,000 Tomans
- Three-person households: 1,560,000 Tomans
- Four-person households: 2,080,000 Tomans
- Five-person households: 2,600,000 Tomans
The funds are deposited directly into the retirees’ subsidy cards, eliminating the need for in-person bank visits or cash handling.
A Pillar of Livelihood Support
Officials state that this program aligns with the government’s broader policies to support retirees and armed forces personnel. By enabling purchases of staple foods—such as rice, oil, meat, poultry, dairy, and pulses—at government-approved prices, the scheme aims to mitigate inflationary pressures and stabilize the cost of living for beneficiaries.
“The vouchers will be gradually credited for all eligible retirees by the end of the week, with no need for re-registration or in-person visits to government offices,” Mr. Rahbar emphasized, while inviting retirees to start using their credits at Etka stores.
This targeted support mechanism, channeled through a dedicated retail network, is viewed as an effective model for ensuring the direct reach of aid. It represents a significant step in ongoing efforts to safeguard the welfare of retirees, potentially serving as a blueprint for similar programs in other pension systems.
