Title: National Weather Update: Stable Skies Dominant, Isolated Coastal and Eastern Turbulence Forecast
TEHRAN – The National Center for Forecasting and Crisis Management of Weather Hazards has announced a forecast of predominantly stable and clear weather across most of Iran for the next five days. However, officials have highlighted specific, short-term weather events for certain coastal and eastern regions.
General Outlook: Widespread Stability
Sadegh Ziaeian, the head of the center, stated that synoptic maps indicate calm and stable atmospheric conditions will prevail over a majority of the country in the coming days. This period of general tranquility is expected to provide a respite from more extreme seasonal weather.
Targeted Advisories for Specific Regions
Despite the overarching stable pattern, the forecast includes specific advisories for localized areas:
- Caspian Coasts (Today & Tomorrow): Cloud formation and scattered rainfall are anticipated along some areas of the Caspian Sea coastline.
- Eastern Provinces (Today): The eastern half of the country, particularly the Zabol region, may experience strong winds. This could lead to reduced visibility and air quality in dust-prone areas.
- Southern Provinces (Wednesday & Thursday): In the afternoons and early evenings of these days, convective cloud development is forecast for parts of southern Sistan and Baluchestan, southern Kerman, and the highlands of Hormozgan. This brings the potential for isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
Temperature and Maritime Conditions
A noticeable drop in temperature is predicted for today and tomorrow in the eastern half of the country, most significantly in South Khorasan, southern parts of Razavi Khorasan, and Sistan and Baluchestan.
Mariners are advised that the eastern part of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz will be rough today. Furthermore, the Sea of Oman is forecast to be turbulent from Sunday through Thursday.
Capital Weather and National Extremes
For the capital, Tehran, clear skies and occasionally increasing winds are forecast. Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 15-16°C, with maximums reaching 27°C.
On the national scale, Ahvaz is predicted to be the warmest provincial capital tomorrow with a high of 42°C, while Shahrekord is forecast to be the coolest with a low of 2°C.
The accuracy of meteorological forecasts within a one-week timeframe is estimated to be approximately 80 percent.
