Southern Iran on Alert as Five-Day Period of Intense Winds and Storms Forecast
Tehran – The Iranian Meteorological Organization has issued a significant weather advisory, warning of a multi-day period of severe climatic conditions set to impact several southern and southeastern provinces.

Sadegh Ziaeian, the Director General of Forecasting at the Iran Meteorological Organization, has provided a detailed breakdown of the expected weather patterns. According to his statement, over the next five days, specific areas in the southeastern regions of the country are forecast to experience heavy rainfall showers and thunderstorms.
Southern Provinces in Focus
The most intense conditions are predicted for the southern parts of the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman, and certain areas of Hormozgan. During the afternoons and evenings over this five-day period, these regions should prepare for thunderstorms, temporary strong winds, and occasional dust storms.
Additional Regional Impacts
The advisory also extends to other parts of the nation. On Friday and Saturday, the northern areas of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Ardabil provinces are expected to see rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong temporary winds. Similar conditions are forecast from Friday to Sunday in the coastal provinces along the Caspian Sea, with the potential for dust in susceptible areas.
Temperature Shifts and Marine Warnings
A drop in temperature is also anticipated. On Friday, this will affect the northwest, the Caspian coastal provinces, and the southern slopes of the Alborz mountain range. By Saturday, this cooling trend will extend to the northeastern parts of the country.
Furthermore, strong winds and dust, leading to reduced air quality, are predicted for Thursday and Friday in the western provinces and the southern slopes of the central Alborz, and on Saturday in the northeast and east. Mariners have been advised that the Sea of Oman will be rough on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by the Caspian Sea on Friday and Saturday.
