Title: Government Prioritizes National Dialogue and Digital Access, Says Presidential Advisor
In a press conference held in Golestan Province, a senior presidential advisor outlined the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, economic development, and resolving public concerns, including access to digital platforms.
A Strategy of National Dialogue
Noureddin Ahi, the Presidential Advisor for Party Affairs, emphasized that the core strategy of the 13th government is fostering a “national dialogue.” He articulated the administration’s principle that Iran belongs to all its people, regardless of their political affiliations or voting history.
“National dialogue is a platform through which, by raising the threshold of tolerance and interaction, we can reach shared solutions for the country’s issues,” Ahi stated. He added that once a common perspective is achieved, solutions are formed that draw on the capacity of all individuals, even those who oppose the government.
A Call for Robust Media Oversight
In a direct address to the media, Ahi encouraged vigorous and unfettered oversight. “Without stuttering, perform your supervisory role,” he urged. He welcomed criticism as essential for the government’s growth, asserting that media professionals should carry out their “historical mission without fear.”
The advisor also issued a sharp critique of parliamentary members who involve themselves in executive appointments, labeling such interference as detrimental to their supervisory duties and “a betrayal of the system of the Islamic Republic.” He clarified that lawmakers should act as watchdogs, utilizing questioning and interpellation, not direct intervention.
Strengthening the Party System and Golestan’s Potential
Ahi revealed that, for the first time since the revolution, a special advisor for parties has been appointed, signaling the administration’s view of parties as “strategic arms of the government.” However, he criticized the current proliferation of 145 parties, calling for a reduction in number and an increase in their quality. He envisioned strong parties capable of acting as a “shadow government,” serving national interests with practical solutions rather than engaging in superficial competition.
Shifting focus to regional development, Ahi highlighted the immense potential of Golestan Province but lamented its lack of national social capital. He called on media to help showcase the region’s capabilities. He praised the local governor and urged public and media support for major development projects, including a free trade zone and the revitalization of the Gorgan Bay, warning that without collective effort, it could face a fate similar to Lake Urmia.
Key Announcements on Platform Access and Border Economy
Responding to public inquiries, Advisor Ahi addressed a key electoral pledge regarding the lifting of restrictions on digital platforms. “The filter on WhatsApp has been lifted,” he confirmed, “and the President is negotiating for the removal of filters on other platforms.”
Finally, he underscored the government’s focus on a “border economy” as a development strategy, announcing the pursuit of a joint special economic zone with Turkmenistan and reaffirming the administration’s commitment to strengthening relations with neighboring countries.
