Title: Orange Alert Issued: Seven Iranian Provinces on High Alert for Floods and Severe Storms
Emergency Warning as Storms and Floods Threaten Southern Iran
Iran’s Crisis Management Organization has issued an Orange Alert for seven northern and northwestern provinces, putting all emergency response teams on high alert. The warning comes as severe storms and torrential rains have already caused injuries and infrastructure damage in several regions.
Destructive Winds and Flash Floods Hit Hard
According to reports, hurricane-force winds reaching 104 km/h struck Iranshahr, drastically reducing visibility to just 50 meters. Heavy downpours—reaching 13 mm in a short period—triggered flash floods in Sistan and Baluchestan and Kerman provinces, injuring two people in Dehmeer village after a wall collapsed. Emergency teams swiftly transported the injured to medical facilities.
In Kerman province, intense rainfall led to flooding in Baft, Rabor, Orzueyeh, and Jiroft, briefly blocking rural roads. Authorities quickly cleared debris, though livestock and shelters suffered minor damage.
Wider Orange Alert Covers Key Provinces
Following Official Notice No. 63875, the Crisis Management Organization extended the Orange Alert (Warning Level 27) to:
- Mazandaran
- Gilan
- Ardabil
- West Azerbaijan
- East Azerbaijan
- Alborz
- Tehran
Provincial crisis management directors have been instructed to hold emergency meetings and coordinate rapid response efforts.
Public Safety Advisory Issued
Officials have urged residents in affected areas to:
- Avoid riverbanks and flood-prone zones
- Refrain from mountain activities and nomadic movements
- Not set up tents near waterways
- Suspend light aircraft, helicopter, and glider flights
Full Emergency Readiness in Place
All rescue and relief agencies remain on full standby, prepared to respond to escalating conditions. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as further storms are anticipated.
