Title: Tehran Derby Set for New Venue with Women’s Attendance Confirmed
A Shift in Venue for a Historic Match
The highly anticipated Tehran derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis, a fixture in the Persian Gulf Pro League, will not be held at the capital’s Azadi Stadium for its upcoming match. With the twelfth-round clash on the horizon, the responsibility falls on the host team, Persepolis, to propose a suitably equipped alternative stadium for this major sporting event.
Official Confirms Women’s Presence in Stands
In a significant development, Ali Tajarina, the acting Managing Director of Esteghlal Club, has confirmed that arrangements are being made to facilitate the attendance of female spectators. Following official consultations, Tajarina stated, “I have spoken with the Governor of Mashhad, who confirmed there is no issue with the presence of ladies in the stadium.” He further clarified that coordination with the Governor’s Office and the head of sports for the Astan Quds Razavi foundation also yielded a positive response, confirming no objections and that the venue’s standards are appropriate for this purpose.
This move highlights the ongoing considerations within the framework of national policies to accommodate citizens’ interests in major national events.
