Iranian Government Fulfills Wheat Farmer Payments, Reinforcing Commitment to Food Security
In a significant move to bolster domestic agricultural production, the Iranian government has successfully allocated and transferred a multi-trillion Toman payment to settle guaranteed wheat purchases from the nation’s farmers.
Timely Financial Injection for Farmers
Following the allocation of credit by the Plan and Budget Organization from public budget resources, a sum of 4,969 billion Tomans has been deposited with the Agricultural Bank. This substantial payment is designated for the immediate disbursement to wheat farmers across the country, settling their outstanding claims.
Commitment to Agricultural Sector Fulfilled
Official reports confirm that with this latest transaction, the government has now settled 100 percent of the financial obligations to wheat growers for the current year, up to October 13, 2024. This action underscores a consistent and reliable payment system for the vital agricultural sector.
Substantial Annual Investment in Domestic Production
The report further highlights the scale of the government’s support this year. In total, 159,201 billion Tomans have been allocated for the guaranteed purchase of wheat since the start of the current Iranian year. This figure represents the full financial value of all guaranteed wheat purchases made up to the specified date in October.
This strategic initiative was implemented with the clear objective of supporting domestic production and ensuring the timely provision of financial resources to wheat farmers. The dependable fulfillment of these payments provides farmers with the economic certainty needed to continue their cultivation efforts with confidence, directly contributing to national food security and agricultural stability.
