Title: National Welfare Initiative Distributes Essential Appliances to Support Families
In a significant nationwide effort to bolster social welfare and support vulnerable families, the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation has launched a series of large-scale assistance programs. These initiatives, described as “relief operations,” are providing essential home appliances to thousands of eligible households across the country, directly addressing living standards and household needs.
Targeted Support for Household Essentials
Officials in Shahin Shahr reported the distribution of home appliances valued at 210 million tomans to beneficiaries in their fourth such operation this year. The provided items are comprehensive, aimed at easing daily life and include refrigerators, freezers, gas stoves, washing machines, heaters, vacuum cleaners, televisions, carpets, blankets, and kitchenware.
“This year, essential goods have been delivered to over 150 supported families so far,” said Hossein Aghdami, a local manager for the Foundation. The total cost of these items since the start of the year has exceeded 8 billion rials.
Addressing Seasonal Needs in Cold Climates
In a parallel effort in the Ardabil province, the program has been tailored to address the region’s harsh, cold climate. Alireza Hosseinnejad, the Provincial General Manager of the Foundation, announced the distribution of 150 heaters valued at 750 million tomans to protected families.
“Planning to meet the essential needs of supported families, especially in the less developed areas of Ardabil province, is a key objective of this institution for serving vulnerable groups,” Hosseinnejad stated. He emphasized that the provision of these basic household needs is managed through a smart system that prioritizes the most pressing issues identified by social workers.
This recent distribution marks the second phase of the appliance drive in Ardabil, following an initial phase where 258 appliances worth 1.6 billion tomans were distributed.
Comprehensive Support for Newlywed Couples
The welfare initiative also extends to supporting family formation. In Tehran province, the Foundation has focused on providing “dowry packages” to supported couples to facilitate marriage and help establish new households.
Hossein Fathabadi, a deputy official in the Tehran branch, detailed that these packages include 16 essential items such as refrigerators, stoves, carpets, washing machines, televisions, and dinnerware sets. He reported that in the first six months of the current year, 529 dowry packages, with a total credit of 41 billion tomans, were awarded.
“The supportive programs of the Relief Foundation for facilitating the marriage of supported youth is one of its most important missions, aimed at supporting the formation and consolidation of the family foundation and promoting easy marriage,” Fathabadi noted.
The support for young couples is not limited to appliance donations. It encompasses a wider range of services, including housing deposit loans, livelihood assistance for brides, interest-free loans, and specialized counseling on marriage, life skills, and entrepreneurship.
The report concludes by highlighting a recent ceremony held in Tehran on the eve of the Sacred Defense Week, where 40 complete dowry packages were distributed to supported couples, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between the Foundation and charitable centers in these national welfare efforts.
