Title: Government Reaffirms Commitment to Pension Harmonization, Foresees Boost for Retirees
In a significant announcement, President Masoud Pezeshkian has confirmed the continuation of the pension harmonization plan for the upcoming year, a move set to directly increase the income of the nation’s retirees.
A Pledge to Retirees
Speaking during a visit to Kurdistan, President Pezeshkian addressed public inquiries regarding the government’s plans for retirees. He stated, “The plan for pension harmonization will be held again next year,” adding that its implementation will lead to a tangible rise in pension payments.
Honoring a Valuable Segment of Society
The President underscored the administration’s deep commitment to the well-being of retirees. He emphasized that “preserving the dignity and status of retirees across the country is a primary priority and main mission for us as public servants in the government.” He further elaborated that the government is striving to alleviate the difficulties faced by this cherished segment of the population, whom he referred to as “priceless treasures,” through these financial increases.
Alignment with National Development Goals
This initiative is framed within the context of the Seventh Development Plan law. According to this national strategic framework, pension adjustments are structured to progressively increase retirees’ benefits. The plan outlines a trajectory for pensions to reach a significant percentage of the salaries of their active counterparts, ensuring a systematic and legally grounded improvement in retirees’ standard of living.
The government’s reaffirmation of the pension harmonization plan highlights its ongoing focus on social welfare and its dedication to implementing national development strategies for the benefit of all citizens.
